Graveside services for Robert Nolan Collins, 68, of Marshall, Texas will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Algoma South Cemetery in Marshall, Texas with Pastor Ryan Fontenot officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 21st at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall.

Robert "Bob" Collins was born on November 22, 1947 in Mena, Arkansas to Norman and Lorene Burke Collins. He passed away December 19, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 on the buddy system with his brother, Gilbert Collins.  He served as a Harbor Patrolman on the USS McCormick, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Bob married Elizabeth "Betty" Hancock Collins on June 2, 1973. They have two sons, Christopher Scott Collins and Corey Robert Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, and sons Chris and Corey, two precious grandchildren, Jeffrey Collins and Jessica Collins. Other surviving family members are his brothers, Gilbert and wife, Anna Maria Collins from Claude, Texas, Hubert and wife, Billie Jean Collins from Waskom, Texas, Wilbert and wife, LeeAnn Collins, and Delbert Collins all of Liberty-Eylau, Texas. He was also adored and will be terribly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
