Robert "Bob"
Garcia
Jul 16, 1935 — Sep 14, 2025
Marshall
It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Robert Garcia, age 90, on September 14, 2025. A proud United States Air Force veteran, devoted husband, and beloved "Papaw to all," Bob lived a life defined by service, family, and faith. He shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with his cherished wife, Connie Garcia, a love story that inspired all who knew them.
Born on July 16, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, Bob grew up with strong values of hard work and dedication that carried through his life. After serving honorably in the Air Force, he returned home to build a life centered around his family and community. Together with Connie, he owned and operated B&C Cleaners before later opening The Wood Shop, where his craftsmanship and strong work ethic were admired by many.
In recent years, Bob found his greatest joy in raising babies and spending time with his grandchildren—both blood-related and chosen—who adored him as "Papaw to all." He cherished his morning ritual of sitting on his porch, listening to his favorite music, and counting the waves from neighbors and friends. Bob was known for making CDs and sharing documentaries with anyone he met, spreading his love of music and knowledge. He always shared wisdom and laughter with everyone around him, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Julia Garcia; seven siblings, Julia Medina, Mary Hanson, Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, Arthur Garcia, Eugene Garcia and Paul Garcia and his grandson, Zachary Garcia.
Bob is survived by his wife, Connie Garcia, and their four children: Robert Garcia (Angela), Roy Garcia (Laura), Roger Garcia (Shawn), Becky Garcia Andrews (Brady), and honorary son, Ricky Elliott. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Kasey Garcia Aiken (Matt), Nicholas Garcia (Laura), Kris Garcia, Zach Garcia, Julie Garcia (Connor), Kenzie Andrews Dane (Brendon), Jesse Andrews (Brooke), Katie Garcia Stewart (Sumner), Corey Carswell (Stefanie), Randi Searle (Dillon), Mitch Dunham (Chasity), and Sarah Edmonson (Logan).
