Funeral services for Robert R. Harris, 95, of Karnack, Texas will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with visitation preceding at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Colonial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service.

Robert was born on August 17, 1930, in Marshall, Texas to Henry Grady Harris and Evelyn Lena Wilson Harris and passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Kilgore, Texas.

He grew up and went to school in Marshall, Texas where he graduated. Soon after graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his beloved country for four years. During his four years of service, he traveled to Korea where he served for one year and four months. He also spent time in such places as Goose Bay, Labrador, Azore Islands, North Africa and other interesting places. He was very proud to have served his nation during a time of war and had many stories to tell about his experiences during these years. Following this time, he met and married Marilyn Grubbs and together they made many fun trips to Air Force reunions in various places in the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Evelyn Harris; his loving wife, Janie Marilyn Harris and sisters, Doris Fechner and Earline Williams.

Those left to cherish his memories are special niece, Julia Elwood and husband, David; sister, Mary Ruth Allen; brothers, Kenneth Harris and Wayne Harris and wife, Nancy along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
