Funeral services for Mr. Robert Hudson, 87 of Jefferson previously of Tatum and Marshall will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday January 19, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Ted White officiating. Eulogy will be read by Lindsey Grindle. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday January 18, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hudson passed away January 17, 2011 in Marshall. Robert Hudson was born in Roscoe Texas April 05, 1923, the son of John Hudson and Zora L. McBride Hudson. He married Lucille Parker in February of 1958 in Lonestar, Texas Mr. Hudson was a truck driver and had worked for several companies. He retired in 1988 from Sullivan Funeral Home where he was the supervisor for grave digging. Mr. Hudson also served his country in the U.S. Army Surviving Mr. Hudson are his daughters, Laura Miranda and husband Eddie of Austin, Jeannie Ansley and husband Ray of Conroe, Barbara Dickerson and husband Jerry of Karnack and Tina Grindle Loe of Tatum; grandchildren, Tammy Colley and husband James of Dayton, James Holley and wife Wendy of Pasadena, Rony Martin and wife Holly of Hermantown, MN., Lisa Lopez and husband Ysasias of La Porte, TX., Christopher Porterfield and wife Michelle of Marshall, Lindsey Grindle of Tatum and James Grindle also of Tatum; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law William (Bud) Parker and wife Neil of Woodlawn and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Hudson and son, Robert C. Hudson. Serving as pallbearers will be William Graham, Robert Graham, Ray Ansley, Eddie Miranda, Odean Grindle and Jerry Dickerson.
