Funeral services for Robert E. Knight, 65 of Marshall will be held at 2 p.m., Friday January 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Evers officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle Creek Cemetery in Harleton, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday January 10, 2013 at the funeral home. Robert E. Knight was born August 4, 1947 in Harrison Co., Texas to Randall Elton and Mildred Jane Powell Knight. He married Ruby Doris Maddox Knight who preceded him in death in 2011. Robert was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was a hard working man even after his retirement in 2009. Robert loved his teacup Chihuahuas, Calico and Hoss. Surviving Robert are son, Roger Maddox and wife, Tammy; daughter, Carla Haney; three grandsons, Corey Maddox, Scotty Haney and Alex Haney; two granddaughters, Courtney Hampton and husband Dustin and Kerry Haney; one great-grandson, Cruz Maddox; one sister, Virginia Ruth Abernathy and husband Bill and numerous nieces and nephews.
