Graveside services for Robert H. "Bob" Sawyer, 81, of Hallsville, TX will be held 3:00 p.m., November 1, 2013, at Cave Springs Cemetery with Bro. Dick Sawyer and Tom Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow. Mr. Sawyer passed away October 27, 2013. Robert Howard Sawyer was born February 14, 1932 in Harrison County to Adolphus and Annie Bellew Sawyer. Bob was a graduate of Marshall High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force 1949-1953. Bob married Betty Margaret Stowe on May 7, 1955 in Marshall, and she preceded him in death on January 4, 1994. Bob was a member of Grange Hall Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Sawyer Services. He had previously worked for T&P Railroad as a truck driver with over 20 years of service. Bob was also an auctioneer, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. Bob is survived by his son Rick Sawyer and wife Cathy Sawyer of Marshall; his daughter, Gaynell Jackson of Plano, TX; 5 grandchildren, Michael and Kellie of Marshall, Michelle and Todd Broome of California, Amy Knight of Marshall, Robin and Gabriel Gulotta of Houston, TX, Jason and Charla Thompson of Plano, TX; 13 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bro. Dick and Winona Sawyer of Marshall, Tom and Jan Sawyer of Corpus Christi, TX, Jim Dixon of Marshall; 2 sisters, Hazel Redmon of Marshall, TX, Johnnie Adams of Eastland, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Thompson, Michael Sawyer, Gabriel Gulotta, Todd Broome, Forrest Lane and Garrett Manning.
