Funeral services for Mr. Robert Dee Thomas, 60 of Karnack will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday July 08, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sipps Cemetery in Karnack. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday July 07, 2011 at the funeral home. Mr. Thomas passed away July 02, 2011 in Marshall. Robert Dee Thomas was born October 10, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James Thomas and Francis Harris Thomas. He was reared in Karnack, Texas where he began his education before relocating to Ft. Worth. He graduated from Ft. Worth in 1969 and was a member of Pleasant Home Missionary Baptist Church. He resided in Ft. Worth until his retirement and moved back to Karnack until his last days. Surviving Robert are four children, Janet Harris and husband Ronald of Arlington, TX, Leniskie Guy and wife Shamaya, Katrina Thomas all of Ft. Worth, TX and Robert Thomas of Gary, IN; four grandchildren, Lauryn D. Harris, Lenecia Guy, Leniskie Guy, Jr. and Coy Thomas; four brothers, Sam Thomas of Karnack, TX, James Thomas and wife Nell of Longview, TX, Johnny Thomas and Eddie Thomas and wife Lorraine all of Ft. Worth, TX; three sisters, Joyce Thomas, Ola Coleman and husband Paul and Lula Thomas all of Ft. Worth, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie Thomas and Arthur B. Thomas and one grandchild, Robyn J. Harris.
