A funeral service for Ronald "Ronnie" E. Nichols, 73, of DeBerry, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. A time for visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, Texas.

He was born on November 9, 1948 in Bossier City, La to the late Leo Nichols and Helen Lee Brown Nichols and passed away on December 21, 2021 at his home in DeBerry, Texas.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early years. He loved watching LSU football and listening to is music. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids and most of all he was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Helen Nichols; his wife, Patricia A. Nichols; sister, Belinda L. Nichols and his great grandson, Jayden.

He is survived by his daughters, Christine Hope Ballenger and spouse, Marc Ballenger, Holly Krickett Bass and spouse, Kevin; sisters, Barbara Foster, Carolyn Nichols and Janie Jordan and spouse, Mark; brothers. Steve Nichols and spouse, Jeanie and Danny Nichols; 10 grandkids and 13 great grandkids.
