Services for Ronnie "Pop Pop" Oney, 60, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at the funeral home.

Ronnie was born on May 14, 1966, in Marshall, Texas to James Allen Oney, Sr. and Linda Katherine Hargiss and passed away on June 16, 2026, at his home in Marshall.

He spent most of his lifetime exemplifying the value of honest, hard work, leaving a lasting legacy for his family. He enjoyed riding on his barge and going as slow as possible. He loved watching baseball and football games, cheering on the Rangers and the Cowboys. He loved to hunt deer but mostly preferred to just watch them through his binoculars. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with all the kids.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Oney, Sr.; mother, Linda Ueckert and stepfather, Jim Ueckert.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Oney; children, Randy Oney and wife, Melanie, Peyton Dawson and husband, Chase, Presley West and Heather Oney; brother, James Oney, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Ricky Oney and Jimmie Ueckert and grandchildren, Karley Oney, Bubba Oney, Laynie Oney, Daxton Dawson, Lillie Dawson, Weston Dawson, Madilyn Hairgrove, Masen Hairgrove and Oenomaus Noble along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
