Funeral services for Rosa Lee Adkisson, 79, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Flanagan and Bro. Dick Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Adkisson passed away June 22, 2015 in Marshall. Rosa Lee Adkisson was born January 9, 1936 in Marshall, TX to Eddie Warren Hynson and Ethel Sanderson Hynson. She attended Marshall Public Schools. She married Bobby Joe Adkisson on April 8, 1952 in Ashdown, AR. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2012. She was a loving caregiver for 38 years as a CNA for Marshall Memorial Hospital and Marshall Manor. Mrs. Adkisson was a devoted wife, mother and "Granny". Surviving Mrs. Adkisson are her children, Vickie Hester, Kathy Lynn Elam and husband Don, B.J. Adkisson, all of Marshall, Eddie Adkisson and Rosemary Sharp of Jefferson, Tresa Ann Smith and husband Buck of Longview; sister, Kathleen Klepser and husband Bob of Kinsington, PA; 6 grandchildren, Stacy Burns and husband Keith, Bernie Shaw and wife Katherine, James Elam and wife Kelly, Scotty Adkisson, David Spence and wife Paige; 7 great grandchildren, Britney Childress, Brandon Childress, Morgan Shaw, Mariah Shaw, Kensie Elam, Riley Spence; 1 great-great grandson, Kaden Childress; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mrs. Adkisson was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Eddie Warren Hynson, Jr.; and 2 sisters, Joyce Flaherty and Bernice Allen. Special thanks to her primary care physician, Dr. Robert C. Hernandez of Shreveport, LA, and special home health care nurse, Stephanie Greer with Care Team and the ICU physicians and nurses from GSMC of Marshall. Pallbearers will be Bernie Shaw, David Spence, James Elam, Brandon Childress, Keith Burns and Donald Seals. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
