Roy Avery, 73 of DeBerry, Texas passed this life March 7th 2026 in Longview Texas.

Roy was born on February 23, 1953, in Evadale, Texas to Richard Paul Avery and Elna Bell Woods Avery. He was an avid hunter and fisherman,  loved being outdoors, playing with the kids and enjoying family.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Richard "Jack" Avery; mother, Elna Avery and brother, William "Bill" Avery.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; children, Shelly and Stacy Avery, and Bill and Erin Avery, all of DeBerry; grandchildren, Annabelle and Elliott Avery, Whitney Harrison, Alex Thompson, Tori Waits; great grandchildren, Allison, Corbin, and Elizabeth; brothers, Joe and Carolyn Avery of Tyler and Glenn and Anna Avery of Marshall and sisters, Mary and Author Owens of Longview, Linda Parker of Mineola, and Rachel and Russell McFadden of DeBerry along with other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Downs Funeral Home.

The family will host a memorial service in his honor at a later date.
