Roy Lee Copeland Sr. was born June 30, 1961 to     Lessie Leo Copeland Sr. and Anna Pearl Grant in Woodlawn, Texas. At an early age, Roy joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Woodlawn, Texas and was   educated in Marshall Public Schools.

On June 15, 1984, he united in holy matrimony with Shirley McGeorge. To this union three children were born, Demetria, Roy Jr. and Devin. Roy raised two boys and one girl as his own, LaChristal, Lee Roy and Willie. Roy was a dedicated employee with Republic Inc. and later became a supervisor at Marshall Pottery until his health would no longer allow him to work. Roy loved to hunt, fish, raise farm animals and build things. He was a one of a kind handy-man.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Shirley Copeland; two daughters, La Christal (Fredrick)     Robinson and Demetria Copeland; four sons, Roy Copeland Jr., Devin Copeland, Lee Roy VanceJr. And Willie Franklin; two brothers, Lessie Copeland Jr. (Dora) and Larry Copeland; four sisters, Marlyn     Bryant, Dorothy Bryant, Glenda Roose (Johnny) and Denise Diggs; one brother-in-law, Jackie Copeland; granddaughter, K'Myria Copeland; grandsons,     LaKeldrick Wheeler, Roy Lee Bennett and Ezie   Blackshire. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
