Funeral services for Ruth Virginia Haynes Jordan will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Rev. Wilbert Hall, Sr will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Gardens Cemetery. Repass will be held at Wiley College in the F.T. Long Student Union Ballroom (903/938-5678). Mrs. Ruth Virginia Haynes Jordan entered into eternal joy and peace on March 23, 2012. Mrs. Jordan was born to the late Mr. Lonnie Haynes and Christine Haynes Young on November 9, 1925 in Marshall, Texas. Ruth was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Lenon Jordan, Sr. To this union eight wonderful children were born, five girls and three boys. One daughter, Marland Jordan Jones, proceeded her in death. Ruth was born and raised in Harrison County. She graduated from H.B. Pemberton High School in 1944. She was a lifelong member of Miles Memorial C.M.E. Methodist Church. Ruth was a faithful member of the Church Stewardess Board for many years and she was a member of the Church Choir. Ruth's career, as she proclaimed, was a homemaker caring for her dear eight children. Ruth relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2010, where she spent her rejoicing days with her daughter, Risa Jordan Anderson. Ruth departed this life on March 23, 2012 at Chancellor Garden of the Lakes, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Survivors include four daughters; Ms. Risa Jordan Anderson, Las Vegas, Nevada, Ms. Lendra Jordan Sanders, Hallsville, Texas, Mrs. Beverly Jordan Jones (Winifred) Marshall, Texas, Angela Jordan Woolen, Marshall, Texas. Three boys: Mr. Barry Kirk Jordan (Lois) Marshall, Texas, Mr., Kenneth "Kemo" Jordan (Cynthia) of Houston, Texas and Lenon Jordan, Jr.(Mechelle) of McKinney, Texas. Seventeen grand children and 20 great grand children and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Charles Randell, Tim Woolen, Allen Jordan, Van Lloyd Anderson, Kirk Harris Jordan and Marlin Randell. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Kirk Jordan, Kenneth Jordan, Sr. and Lenon Jordan, Jr. Flower bearers will be friends of the family.
