On June 11, 2025, Ruth McGee, 86, of Harleton went home to heaven to rest in peace. Alma Ruth McGee was born May 17,1939 in Gladewater, Texas to W.A. and Edna Durham. She was the devoted wife of Charles R. "Bobby" McGee for 65 years. Together they owned and operated several businesses including Bobby McGee's Grocery and Bob McGee's trucking. Ruth also was a substitute teacher for Harleton Schools, a job she greatly enjoyed.
She attended school in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She later moved back to Gladewater, where she graduated in 1957. She and Bobby married shortly after. They went on to have three daughters and a son. They continued to be a big part in raising their grandchildren.

It brought her happiness to share those talents with everyone. She enjoyed watching westerns, game shows, and football with Bobby by her side. Together they shared the love of racing which they passed onto their family. Ruth was a fun-loving caregiver that everyone admired. She will be dearly missed by all.
