A funeral service for Ruth Roberson, 79, of Longview, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

Ruth was born on June 7, 1945, in Texarkana, Arkansas to Clifford Overton and Lucille Medley Overton and passed away on March d31, 2025, in Longview, Texas.

She loved her church and served under her nephew as pastor. She loved to crochet and loved watching game shows day and night, no matter how old they were. She was the sweetest lady and loved everyone. Most of all she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lucille Overton; her husband, Walter Roberson; brother, Alton Overton; sister, Nancy Philpot and brother-in-law, Marion Martindale.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Roberson and wife, Linda; sister, Elenora Martindale; brother, Roy Overton and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Lynn Raibourn and wife, Amanda and Kim Raibourn and Tasha and great grandchildren, Carson Raibourn, Blake Raibourn, McKenna and Kenner along with numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Shriner's Hospital.
