Funeral services for Ms. Ruth Alene Watson, 82 of Marshall will be held at 10a.m., Thursday June 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday June 15, 2011 at the funeral home. Ms. Watson passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in Marshall. Ruth Alene Watson was born September 05, 1928 in Ellis County, Texas to William Burns and Minnie Richie Burns. Ms. Watson enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving Ruth are son, Barry Cooper and wife Sue of Manor, TX; daughter, Sandra Smith of Karnack; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and four sisters. Serving as pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
