Sam W. Hall, Jr. Funeral services for Mr. Sam W. Hall, Jr., 74 of Marshall will be held at 11 a.m., Monday October 10, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Algoma South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday October 9, 2011 at the funeral home. Mr. Hall passed away October 6, 2011 in Longview. Sam W. Hall, Jr. was born December 20, 1936 in Marshall to Sam Wilson Hall, Sr. and Mary Locker Hall. Sam worked in the construction industry as an equipment operator, retiring in May 2011. He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church and was a very social and active person. Sam was an avid outdoorsman and football fan. He was also a loving grandfather to five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Surviving Sam are two sons, Robert Hall and wife Dolores and Ryan Hall and wife Deanne; daughter, Tonya Dollison and husband Bobby; two sisters, Peggy Webster and husband Jim and Wanda Morris and husband Col Earl Morris, Retired US Air force; grandchildren, Crystal Melton, Lauren Ashley Hall, Dillon Hall, Madison Hall and Meagan Hall; great-grandchildren, Aaron Grimm and Gregory Ethan Melton and special friend, Mary Jane McCrary. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Ricky Dean Hall, and brother, Jon Hall.
