A graveside service for Sammy Dale Smith, 51, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at County Line Cemetery in Diana, Texas. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cemetery.

Sammy was born on December 21, 1971, in Dallas, Texas to Walter Eugene Smith, Jr. and Eula Elizabeth Toombs and gained his wings on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Longview, Texas after a long illness.

He graduated Harleton High School and was self employed and also worked at Smith Variety Shop for his uncle.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Eugene Smith, Jr. and brothers, William Dean Smith and Timmie Lynn Smith.

He is survived by his mother, Eula Elizabeth Smith; his wife of 19 years, Cynthia Harrell; children, Mikela Smith and Brooke Smith; step-son, Christopher Harrell; sister, Sandra Gonzalez and husband, Manuel; aunts and uncles, Zion Smith and wife, Karen, James Toombs and wife, Faye, Grace Wallace, Janie Dickerson Overton, Ray Dickerson, Jerry Dickerson and wife, Barbara and Sue Newman along with numerous nieces, nephew and cousins and other family and friends.
