Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Cave Jones, age 66, of Longview, TX, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend went to heaven to be with Jesus on September 19, 2025, with her loving husband Randy by her side. Though she suffered with chronic health issues including vasculitis, her passing was unexpected.

Sandra Jean Decker was born and raised in Columbus, OH on March 7, 1959, to Frank and Barbara Decker the second of three children. She believed in Jesus for everlasting life at an early age and was teaching children about Jesus in her backyard as a young girl. Sandy was sensitive, caring, kind, generous, and willing to help her many friends. She loved sewing, singing with her sister, playing the piano, and watching Ohio State football with her family. One of Sandy's favorite accomplishments was writing a Children's Curriculum called Everlasting Life for Free Grace International.  It is being used to teach children around the world.

She graduated from Maranatha Christian high school in May of 1977 and attended Cedarville College for one year. It was there she met and fell in love with Robert "Bob" Cave and they were married in July 1979. They settled first in Colorado before moving to Dallas, TX where Bob attended Dallas Theological Seminary in preparation for serving as a pastor. During their time in Dallas, Sandy and Bob welcomed their two children, Elisa and Brian, who she loved dearly and was proud of. When her grandchildren began to arrive, they became her delight and she cherished her time with them.

In June of 2014, Sandy's beloved husband Bob was suddenly called home to be with the Lord. During this difficult time God brought another special man into her life: Bob's best friend, Randy Jones.  Randy became the new love of her life and they were married in May 2015. They enjoyed life together sharing the ministry of teaching children at their church, supporting Randy's mission work, and playing golf together, which brought out her competitive spirit. Sandy embraced Randy's three children as well as his numerous grandchildren as her own.

Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Randy Jones; her loving children, Elisa Cave, Brian (Mandy) Cave; her devoted grandchildren (Millie, Wesley, Lainey); her loving stepchildren, Amanda (Adam) Spikes, Joshua (Leah) Jones, Jeremy Jones; her devoted step grandchildren (Emilyn, Briley, Adam II, Aryn (Jeremiah), John Michael, Kreed (Laramie); her brother, Tim (Mary Lou) Decker, her sister, Kristie (Joel) Battaglia; as well as extended family and friends.

Sandy is now with her granddaughter Lydia and Jesus.
