A memorial service for Sandra Griffin Woods, 60, of Harleton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Warbington officiating. Sandra was born February 11, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Harold Deshon Griffin and Dorothy Janette Sawyer Griffin. She passed away July 31, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Sandra was a lifelong Texas resident, graduating from Elysian Fields High School. She worked as a welder for twenty years, went on to be a supervisor, and later owned her own construction company. She also owned and operated Western Danceland and The Backdoor in Marshall, Texas. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended Mulberry Springs Baptist Church. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Dennis Lynn Tew and wife, Shelley of Marshall, Kelly Tew of Longview,and Regina Henson and husband, Aaron of Harleton; grandchildren, Brittany Boyd, Jamie Boyd, Kaleb Boyd, Ava Tew, Kayla Stanford, Bailey Muse, Kelcy Henson, Taylor Henson, and Drayson Henson. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Ann Harris, and brother Richard Glen Griffin.
