Sarah Jane Golden Perkins Stowe was born November 15, 1926 in Marshall, Texas to Leonard Winkfield Golden and Waneta Evelyn Parson Golden. She passed away June 13, 2015 at her residence in Karnack, Texas. Sarah attended school in Marshall. She enjoyed traveling and going to the boats. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene. She kept many children, both family and non-family members. Survivors are her children, Winston and Judy Perkins of Woodlawn, Kenneth and Judith Perkins of Marshall, Robert and Sue Perkins, Pam Perkins, and Wanda and Jimmy Alexander, all of Karnack, Laura and John Mendoza of Marshall; special nephew, Ralph and Lisa Golden of Waskom; brothers, Richard Golden of Longview, John Golden and Alfred Golden, both of Karnack, and James Golden of Lancaster. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive Ms. Stowe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Waneta Golden; two husbands, W.H. Perkins and Willie Stowe; her sisters, Charlotte LaJune Scott and Bertha Evelyn Pool, and brother, Leonard Winkfield Golden, Jr. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home on a date to be determined.
