Services for Sarah Ellen Turner will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Waskom with the Rev. J.W. Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Motley Cemetery, Scottsville, under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Turner died Friday, April 6, 2012, in Desoto, Texas. Born in Harrison County, she was the daughter of John Roy Harris, Sr. and Lucille Long Harris. She attended the Harrison County public schools. She is survived by three sons, Alvin Patterson of Scottsville, Texas; Darrell Turner of DeBerry, Texas and Ronnie Turner of Rosharon, Texas; three daughters, Diane Turner of Cedar Hill, Texas; Karen Preston of DeSoto, Texas, and Yolanda Turner of Missouri City, Texas; one sister Catherine Dotson of Greenwood, Louisiana; three brothers Lavale Harris of Waskom, Texas; Willie Harris and Oliver Harris of Dallas, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Family hour will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 13th at Downs Funeral Home.
