Sharon Summers Phipps was born November 23, 1946 in Galena Park, Texas to Raymond Odell Summers and Vivian Lucille Baldree Summers. She graduated from Jourdanton High School with the class of 1965. She met Don C. Phipps , and they were married on March 4, 1967 in Houston, Texas.

Sharon loved taking care of people, arranging flowers and doing crafts, but most of all she love spoiling her grandbabies. Everyone called her "Grammy". She worked for 31 years as the Secretary of the Harleton Baptist Church and she was over the Hospitality Committee.

Sharon passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 in Longview. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at Harleton Baptist Church with Bro. Will Sherman officiating. There will be a visitation from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of forty-nine years, Don Phipps; daughters, Dr. Donna Phipps Davis and husband, Charles, and Vivian Burleson and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Bradie Davis, Madison Morgan, Clancy Davis, Reagan Burleson, and Kinley Burleson; her sister, Pamela Moss and husband, Norman of Riverton, Wyoming. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Vivian Summers, her devoted aunt and uncle, Charlie Doyle and Octavia Baldree, and two brothers, Glenn Summers and Donald Ray Summers.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Texas Oncology Center in her memory.
