A funeral service for Sherry Anette Buchanan will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2021 at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. Sherry Anette Buchanan passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Marshall, TX.  She was born in Port Arthur, TX, a native of Carlyss, LA. Sherry and Doug made Marshall TX their home in 1997.  She is preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 35 years, Douglas Buchanan.

Sherry "Maw Maw" was like dynamite as she was a small package, but a mighty strong will.  Sherry never met a stranger. would make conversation with anyone, anywhere.

She had several things that brought her great joy.  She loved her family, home, and her fur babies.

One thing that she enjoyed was collecting tea cups, apple theme collectables and more recently Pioneer Woman items for her kitchen.

She loved sitting on the back porch watching butterflies, hummingbirds and looking over the lake.  At times, sitting with sugar water trying to feed the hummingbirds.

Another favorite past time was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play football, baseball, basketball and just tossing the football around the yard.

She recently rededicated her life to the Lord and attended Cypress Valley Bible Church with her faith family.

She is survived by her children, Paul Noblit and spouse Jessie, Shannon Noblit and spouse Daniellle, Donna Hallman and spouse Glenn, Andrea Buchanan McFarlain and spouse Darren, Lori Buchanan Barleigh and spouse Jarred, and Nathan Noblit and spouse Beverly; her brother David Edgar and wife Laura. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her memory.
