Funeral services for Sherry Allums Moore Briggs, 65 of Marshall will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Springs Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Briggs passed away June 1, 2013 in Kilgore. Sherry Allums Moore Briggs was born April 28, 1948 in Marshall, Texas to David Allums, Sr. and Hulene Wright Allums. She married William Earl Moore, who preceded her in death in January 2002. Sherry then married Curtis Briggs in June of 2005. Sherry was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Harleton, Texas. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, granny Houston, daughter, mother-in-law, sister and aunt. Sherry worked in the medical field and insurance most of her life. Sherry is survived by her husband, Curtis Briggs; four sons and their wives, David W.and Deloris Moore, Terry Lee and Diana Moore, Jerry Lyn and Lisa Moore and William Evan Moore; step-daughter and husband, Chanda and Shane Telischack; grandchildren, Cody Moore, Ashley Moore Hernandez, Dillon Moore, Allison Moore, Forrest Moore, Dustin Moore, Kali Moore, Libby Moore, Colton Moore, Hanna Moore, Zach and Ryleigh; great-grandchildren, Julia, Ethan, Addison, Slade, Isabella and Jaxson; her father, David Allums Sr.; sister, Susie Lehman and husband Allen; brothers, Joe David Allums II and Joe David Allums III; mother-in-law, Katheryn Walker and husband James; brother-in-law Gerald Wayne Moore and wife Pat and sister-in-law, Kay Dutton and husband Tomy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Moore, sister, Joy Slone, and her mother, Hulene Allums. The family would like to say a special thank you to a cherished aunt, Martha Rhyne and her daughter, Theresa, Bubba, Sue and Aron, Jerry Pruitt , Janet Dale and Janice Luby. Also, the family would like to especially thank Faith Hospice and Staff.
