Shirley Harrington Funeral services for Shirley Harrington, 57, of Marshall will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Dr. Billy Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in the Algoma North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, June 10th at the funeral home. Mrs. Harrington passed away June 7, 2012 in Marshall, Texas. Shirley was born on July 1, 1954 to W.K. Bowden and Peggy Bedford Bowden in Alice, Texas. She graduated from Haughton High School in Haughton, Louisiana. She married Doyne "Skip" Harrington on November 14, 1980 at the First Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a librarian for Bossier City Public Library for four years. She is survived by her husband and soul-mate of thirty-one years D.E. (Skip) Harrington, one daughter Michelle Vogel,son Randall Vogel, and granddaughter Gracelynn Merrick-Vogel. Other survivors for Shirley are her sister Cheryl Burton, and her brother Billy Bowden. She was preceded in death by her father W.K. Bowden and mother Peggy Bowden, and her brother Kenneth Bowden.
