A funeral service for Shirley Heflin Loyd, 69, of Waskom, Texas will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 02, 2015 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Restland Cemetery, Waskom, TX. Visitation will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, December 01, 2015 also at Downs Funeral Home. Ms. Loyd passed away November 28, 2015.

Shirley Heflin Loyd was born November 28, 1946 in Shreveport, LA to Elmer and Lerlene Heflin. She was an avid Wildcat Football fan attending games and cheering for her team every chance she had. Shirley also managed the Waskom ISD school cafeteria. She was one of those ladies that everyone loved and was known as "Granny" to everyone. Shirley was a member of the 1st Assembly of God in Waskom.

Shirley is survived by her son, Chad Loyd and wife, Teresa of Waskom; son, Dane Loyd and wife, Susan of Waskom; sister, Sandra Hickey and husband, Roy Lee; brother, James Heflin and wife, Phyllis; grandchildren, Justin Loyd, J.D. Loyd, Colton Loyd, and Brooke Loyd; great-grandchildren, Trayson Loyd and Jack Loyd; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lerlene Heflin; husband, Gary Lynn Loyd; two brothers, Johnny Heflin and Marvin Heflin; and two sisters, Margaret Bridges and Charlotte Roberts.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
