Funeral services for Shirley Man, 77, of Avinger, TX will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Lake of the Pines Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn Thrapp officiating. Interment will follow in Mims Community Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Mann passed away March 6, 2013 at her residence. Shirley Hooker Mann was born January 10, 1936 in Yantis, TX to Earl and Nannie Harry Hooker. She attended Yantis Public Schools. Shirley married Raymond Mann, and he preceded her in death. She was very involved in children's church. Shirley was an avid gardener, and could grow or root anything. She love to fish, and was an avid outdoorswoman, loving nature. Shirley was a very caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had been a secretary for the schools. Shirley Mann is survived by her son, Donald Mann; daughter, Jannie Holm, both of Lake O' The Pines; brothers, William and Sarah Hooker, Bernie and O'dera Hooker; sister, Racheal Morgan, all of Yantis; grandsons, Justin and Julie Mann, Steven Mann and Ryan Holm, all of Lake O' The Pines; great granddaughter, Majara Nicole Mann; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Pallbearers will be Justin Mann, Steven Mann, Ryan Holm, Bobby Kirkpatrick, Deion Dominquez and Jim Boyd.
