Graveside service for Sidney Chessher, 85, of Marshall will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Chessher passed away September 10, 2012 in Marshall. Sidney Chessher was born December 23, 1926 in Onalaska, Texas to Sid H. and Carrie Ellis Chessher. Sidney married Fannie Lou Wright on September 16, 1944 in Groveton, Texas. They were blessed with four children, Sidney Kirk, Larry O"Brien, Patty and Debbie. Mr. Chessher served his country in the US Army and reached the rank of Sergeant. He was an electrician by trade. Mr. Chessher was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Grand Lodge Marshall #22, Mason, Endowed member of Scottish Rite 32nd degree. He is survived by his wife, Fannie Wright Chessher of Marshall; son, Larry O"Brien Chessher and wife Pam of Hallsville; daughters, Patty Gilliland and husband Cliff of Longview and Debbie Hasler and husband Mike of Marshall; grandchildren, Cydnie Adams, Misty Morris, Erin Wilkins, Tracie jones and very special Megan Hasler; and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Chessher was preceded in death by son, Sidney Kirk Chessher; granddaughter, Mindy Chessher Woodson; parents, Sid and Carrie Chessher; and 11 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Cliff Gilliland, Mike Hasler, Tate Wilkins, Jeff Adams, Mark Morris and Chad Jones.
