Visitation for Sokserey Lay, 19, of Marshall and Shreveport will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Memorial service for Serey will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Park Baptist in Shreveport. Officiating will be beloved family friend Rev. Dr. B. J. Maddox. Serey went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2012. Sokserey Lay was born April 14, 1992 to Song Lay and Sophany Long in a Refugee camp in Thailand. He came to the USA when he was 6 weeks old. He graduated from Southwood High School in 2010. He attended Kilgore College. Serey was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his brothers, Samnang Lay and his fiancé Cori Weir of Marshall and Mike Lay and family of Cambodia; sister, Thyda Lay; step-mom Sophany Lay; uncle, Huon and Sathea Lay of Shreveport; nieces, Sophia Lay of Marshall and Layla Moore of Missouri; nephew, Camden Moore of Missouri; cousins, Soksan Lay of Shreveport and Dr. Sathea Vy Lay and husband Chad Moore of Missouri; and numerous other relatives and friends who helped raise him. The family wishes to thank all of the people at Rose Park Baptist Church.
