A Funeral Service for Stephanie Stump, 60, of Waskom, TX will be held at 2:00pm Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery, Waskom. Visitation will take place Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Downs Funeral Home. Ms. Stump passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Stephanie Stump was born November 13, 1955 to Joseph Chavez and Jovita Perez Chavez in St. Paul, Minnesota. A resident of Waskom for 30 years, Stephanie will be remembered as an active individual participating and volunteering her time for many local organizations. Among the organization she participated are, Cub Scouts of America for 25 years and Team Red White and Blue where she was an active member participating in many functions. Stephanie loved running and was an exercise fanatic. For 17 years she worked as a Case Manager for the Waskom Head Start program where she helped countless families in a number of ways. While she loved each of these organizations, most of all, Stephanie loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her son and grandson, two people she loved dearly.

Surviving Stephanie are her son, Joseph Stump and wife, Jennifer; grandson, Zachary James Stump; sister, Victoria Acosta; four brothers, Henry Chavez, Joseph Chavez, Williams Chavez and David Chavez, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding her in death are her parents and three siblings, Robert Chavez, Leo Chavez and Richard Chavez.
