A funeral service for Sue Melba McClellan, 78, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, at the funeral home.

Sis. Sue Melba McClellan entered her life on March 13, 1944, in Hallsville, Texas and departed on March 11, 2023, in Marshall, Texas.

She was born to the parentage of Ruby Webb Craine and Oliver Craine.

She excepted Christ at an early age at West Side Church of Christ. She always held on to her Christian beliefs as much as possible. She loved singing songs of praise of humming and keeping her family encouraged. She was educated in Hallsville Public Schools. She worked as a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Oliver Craine; her husband, Joseph McClellan, Sr.; brothers, John Craine, Rosebell Craine, Lewis Charles Craine, JD Craine, Rosevelt Craine, Jessie Neva Craine and Freddie Gean Craine; sisters, Carrie Craine, Cremella Craine, Effie Mae Craine and Ollie Craine.

She is survived by her children, children, Joseph (Alta), Yolanda, Michael (Ashley), David (Gennett), Colleen, Cremella (Murrell), Cynthia (Marcell) and Pauline; grandchildren, Adrianne Hanks, Willie Hanks, Emory McClellan, De'Michal McClellan, Draylin McClellan, Taiya McClellan, Ti'Aqua Copeland, Tierra Copeland, Bommie McClellan, Joseph McClellan, III, Creosha Washington and Kelvin Artison; great grandchildren, Roger Washington, III, Grescieon Washington, Eric McClellan, Jordynn McClellan, Jurnee McClellan and Klevor Smith and sister, Bernice Craine along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
