Susie was born on July 2,1954, in Dallas, Texas to Buddy and Betty Townson and passed away on January 6, 2024, in Marshall, Texas.

She grew up in Harleton and was a graduate of Harleton High School. She grew up in a large family. She had three brothers and three sisters. She was the oldest daughter in the family. Susie was an active member of Harleton Baptist Church. Because of her love for God and family, she worked in VBS and loved serving in the nursery. People would describe her as an awesome babysitter! She knew how to spoil each of them and all the children loved having her be there as their sitter. Parents loved that she took care of their children and appreciated her thoughtfulness and nurturing spirit. If you went to a football game, you could almost guarantee that Susie would be in the stands, wearing her green and gold, and cheering on the Wildcats. She was their biggest fan. Never did she complain when having to take care of nieces and nephews, because they were the apple of her eye. She knew how to love them and spoil them like no other. She had a heart of gold filled with God's mercy, compassion, and love. When Susie was sick or in pain, you never heard her complain. She always had a smile on her face and would ask if she could help you with something.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Betty Townson and brother, Benny Townson.

Surviving siblings are Victor Townson, Donnie Townson, Gloria Johnston and husband Craig, Tammy Carter and husband Royce, and BeLinda McDonald and husband Greg along with nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Susie was a joy to everyone she met because of her loving spirit. After touching so many people's lives, God chose to call her home. Her love for God and the kindness she showed will forever live on in the lives she touched while here on Earth.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Harleton Baptist Church.

We love you, Susie!
