Susan Lynne
York Crenshaw
Oct 30, 1943 — Apr 8, 2025
Marshall
Susan Lynne York Crenshaw (GG) was born October 30, 1943, in Marshall, Texas to Paul and Janice York. She passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
Susan was a graduate of Marshall High School. She attended Texarkana College and graduated from East Texas Baptist University. Susan was retired from MISD after teaching Computer Science and Math at Marshall Junior High and Marshall High School.
Susan was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. She loved Nolan Ryan and Troy Aikman and was able to attend many games. She also loved Conway Twitty and George Strait. In her retirement years, she enjoyed tending her crops on her virtual homestead in Farmtown, crossword puzzles, coloring and all things Christmas. Her Christmas collection could rival most. She spent every morning with a cup of coffee and reading her Bible. She has read the Bible cover to cover many times.
Susan always saw the good in everybody. She was a generous and kind soul who worried about everyone else and never herself. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her was a better person for it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sally, brother-in-law Tuck, and a baby brother. She was also preceded in death by her very special furry companion, Fable.
Susan is survived by her siblings, Bubba (Jerry), Jan (Billy), and Tommy (Lori). She is also survived by her children, Scot, Wendy (Jason), Becky (Juan) and Jann (Jake); by her grandchildren, Logan, Nick, Morgan, Jordan, Amanda, Mindy, Amy, Amber, Kelly, Payton, Dakota, and 12 great grandchildren. GG's grandkids and great grandkids were her pride and joy.
To know her was to love her. We will miss her dearly; but we are comforted knowing that she is no longer in pain.
"This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24
