Sylvia "Sissy" was born August 13, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Jessie Claude McIntire and Geneva Martin Winn and went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2010 after a three year battle with cancer. She retired in 2005 from the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Pierremont Mall in Shreveport, which she opened in 1965, and which her daughter continues to own and operate. Sylvia graduated from Adamson High School High School, Dallas, Texas in 1956 and attended Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas. Sissy loved genealogy, gardening, traveling, reading, going to Texas Tech football games. And Dallas Maverick games, but the thing she loved most was spending time with her five grandchildren. She was an amazingly loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She was a member of Summer Grove Methodist Church while living in Shreveport, then Crossroads United Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas after she and Ross moved to their cherished 4 Bar K in East Texas. She was an active member in The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, serving as past Historian General for the DRT board of management, and Past Charter President. She was a founder of the Mary Jane Lyday chapter of the Children of the Republic of Texas, of which her five grandchildren were founding members and she was a member of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie McIntire and Geneva and C.S. Winn. Left to cherish her memory is first and only love of her life, and husband of 52 years, Ross Kennedy; her son, Joseph Kennedy and wife Dianna of Longview; her daughter, Tamara Kennedy Lamb and husband Walter of Shreveport and her grandchildren, Katelyn Michelle Kennedy of Austin, Kendall Dawn Kennedy and Clayton Ross Kennedy of Longview, Michael Ross Lamb and Emmy Elizabeth Lamb of Shreveport and her beloved black lab, Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ross Lamb, Clayton Ross Kennedy, Jerry Brock, Robert Hulen, Kirk Brock, Kyle Brock, Don Everett and Virgil Pierce.
