Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry Ledbetter, who passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 69. With a heart for God, he found joy in his family, friends, work, and helping others. In addition, he loved watching Christmas Hallmark movies and beach vacations with his family each summer.

He was born September 10, 1955, to Norma and Scotty Ledbetter in Marshall, Texas. He was the second of 5 of The Ledbetter boys: Ricky, Terry, Jerry, David, and Greg.

He developed his hard work ethic and love for mechanics at a young age while working with his Papaw. Throughout the years, Terry worked at W&W Supply, then acquired his own machine shop, and most recently, worked at Enterprise. Above all, his most important role was serving the Lord and his church as the head Deacon at Nesbitt Baptist church in Nesbitt, Texas.

Terry realized in the third grade that he would marry Mitzie, who would later become the love of his life, on March 30, 1973. They got married at a young age and began their life together, soon becoming loving parents to Michael, Jason, Chris, and Jennifer "Miss Honey". He was a proud grandfather to Jeremy, Brian, Zach, Baylee, Hudson, and Cooper and a great-grandfather to Leilani.

He was more than just a husband, father, and friend. He was our mentor, our rock, our safe place. He was the man we could count on for anything. He taught us the importance of values, hard work, and kindness, but most importantly, to put our faith and trust in the Lord.

He will forever be remembered for his immense love for God and his family. His ability to make us laugh even in the toughest times, his unwavering support, and his gentle nature.

There to welcome him into heaven are his sons, Michael and Jason, his grandson, Zach, his parents, Norma and Scotty, his father-in-law, Richard Wilson, along with his brothers, David and Greg.

Left to carry on his legacy, reputation, and memory are his soul-mate Mitzie; son, Chris and wife Angelica; daughter, Jennifer and daughter-in-law, Lisa. Grandchildren, Jeremy, Brian, Baylee, Hudson, and Cooper, and great-granddaughter, Leilani. Brothers Ricky and Jerry and wife, Jenny. His mother-in-law, Geneva Wilson, brothers/sisters-in-law, Rick & Kristi Wilson, Kay & David McMinn, Jeff & Paige Wilson, and Teresa & Jason Evers, as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Terry loved big and his light shined bright, touching so many people by just being him. He showed the love of Jesus through not just his words, but through actions. Without a doubt he is rejoicing with our Savior waiting on the day we are reunited with him there. It's gonna be a good day!
