Funeral services for Thelma L. Grant, 67 of Marshall will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday June 26, 2013 at Southside Church of Christ. Interment will follow in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday June 25, 2013. Mrs. Grant passed away June 19, 2013 in Dallas. Thelma L. Grant was born July 20, 1945 in Jefferson, Texas to Banker Gray and Cleo Jackson Gray. She attended Southside Church of Christ for numerous years and was a facilitator of the Lord's Supper every Sunday. Thelma loved her family and was a very happy person who had a glass half full personality. She also loved to fish, loved flowers, shopping, and home interior decorating. She was a caregiver both at home and at Colonial Park Nursing Home, as well as a home health aide. She dedicated her later years to her family at home. Surviving Thelma are her husband, Leonard C. Grant of Marshall; sons, Cedrick Grant and wife Yvette of Jacksonville, FL, Derrick Grant and wife Crystal of Irving, Tx., and Demetreus Grant of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Whautonia Lamb and husband Kendall of Glen Heights, TX.; brother, Robert L. Gray and wife Lottie of Shreveport, LA.; sister, Ann Turner and husband George of Mansfield, LA.; uncle, Bill Jackson and wife Rosie of Ft. Worth, TX.; grandchildren, Amber Selders, Cedrick Grant, Jr., Demetreus Carr, and Kendellon Lamb; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family; special friends, Diane Darty, Mosetta Wilson, and Marine Jackson and special nurse, Jill Allen She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary J. Staten and Johnnie M. Gray and granddaughter, Andrea "Pebbles" Williams.
