A funeral service for Thomas E. Hartley, Sr., will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. A time for visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2022, at Downs Funeral Home.

He was born on December 1, 1933, in Cameron, Texas to James Thomas Hartley and Margaret Ann Divine Hartley. He married Dolores Johnson on September 21, 1954, in Houston, Texas. He passed away on January 8, 2022, at this home in Marshall, Texas.

He was a member of Crossroads Methodist Church. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, raising cattle and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Johnson Hartley; granddaughter, Tammy Hartley Beasley and spouse, Randy; great grandchildren, Lacy Beasley Lee and spouse, Terry, Christina "Nina" Beasley Wright and spouse, Dustin, Zachariah Thomas Beasley and Ada Beasley along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
