Funeral services for Tommy Hines, 64, of Marshall will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Tommy passed away May 8, 2012 in Shreveport. Tommy was born November 4, 1947 in Marshall to Bob and Nell Ford Hines, Jr. He worked as a self-employed contractor in the housing industry for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Tommy enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and 4-wheeler riding. Tommy is survived by his wife, Lauretta Hines of Marshall; son, Allen Hines (Nora) of Marshall; step-sons, George Howard (Maria) of Oklahoma, Earl Dykes, Jr. (Jennifer) of Hallsville and Chad Howard (Missy) of Marshall; grandson, Logan Hines; numerous grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Steve Hines, Kenneth Hines, both of Longview and Scott Hines of Tyler. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny and two sisters, Carolyn and Bobbie Nell.
