Funeral services for Thomas Michael " Mike" Coleman, 69, of Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Carlton Burris officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Downs Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 25th. Mike Coleman was born in Marshall, Texas to Jeff Coleman and Bessie George Coleman on January 9, 1945. He was a graduate of Marshall High School. Since 1964 he was the owner and operator of Coleman's Grocery Store in Marshall, and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Survivors for Mr. Coleman are his daughters, Kelli Coleman Read and Bonnie Coleman, both of Marshall; stepsons, Cliff Allen of Marshall, Kevin Allen of Houston, and Nicholas Brixey of Marshall; grandchildren, Shelbey Read and Dylan Coleman Read of Marshall; sister Shirley Renfro of Marshall; nieces and nephews, Jamie & Donny McCracken, Larry Renfro, and Carol McClendon, all of Marshall; James and Judy Whatley, and friend Karen Brixey. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be James (Bubba) Whatley, Dylan Coleman Read, Steve Chambers, Kenny Perkins, Hubert Mobley, and Randall Jeans.
