Funeral services for Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Ford, 81 of Waskom will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday November 23, 2010 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. David Rice officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Waskom. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday November 22, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Ford passed away Saturday November 20, 2010 in Shreveport. Thomas Ford was born September 28, 1929 in Smith Co, Mississippi to Thomas Martin Ford and Daisy Mae Hegwood Ford. On February 13, 1950 he married Johnnie Warren in Brandon Mississippi. Mr. Ford was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a 50 year member of of the Masonic Lodge in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He also served in the US Army after W.W.II in the occupation force. Surviving Thomas are his wife of 60 years, Johnnie Ford; one son, Tommy Ford and one daughter, Cheryl York all of Waskom. Also surviving are his mother, Daisy Mae Griffin of Marshall, sister, Betty Jo Robichaux; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew. Serving as pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class. The family requests memorials be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church Building Fund, 11763 FM 31, Marshall, Texas 75672.
