A funeral service for Tony Clint Simmons, Sr., 65, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algoma North Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.

Tony was born on December 9, 1958, in Marshall, Texas to Benjamin Howard Simmons and Fleta Marie Courtney Simmons and passed away on December 20, 2023, in Longview, Texas.

He married Tasha Nicole Simmons on August 12, 2013, in Carthage, Texas and the two remained married until his passing. He was employed with the Marshall Fire Department for five years, Texas Utilities for fifteen years, General Motors for five years and was the owner of Simmons Construction until his retirement. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, coaching baseball and golfing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Howard and Fleta Marie Simmons; nephew, Jason Taylor and nieces, Tammy Taylor and Mindy Woodson.

He is survived by his wife, Tasha Simmons; children, Sonny Simmons and wife, Elena, Tony Clint Simmons, Jr. and J'Lyn Courtney Greaux  step children, Kamrun Evans, Joseph Evans and wife, Cheyenne and Ethan Evans; sisters, Linda Nolan and husband, Charles, Betty Mayfield and Judy Lee; brothers, John Simmons and wife, Susan, Doni Simmons and wife, Mary Ann and Todd Simmons and wife, Kelli; grandchildren, Triston Simmons, Jamison Simmons, Jackson Greaux, Nathan Greaux,  Trevor Simmons, Beau Simmons, Lanson Simmons and Dalton Simmons; special niece and nephews, Misty Morris, Barry Nelson, Colby Simmons and Chase Simmons along with a number of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers that family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
