A memorial service for Troy J. Downs, II (T.J.), 36, of Avinger, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Avinger.

T.J. was born on September 4, 1986, in Linden, Texas to Troy J. Downs, Sr. and Susan Dishaw Downs and passed away on September 13, 2022, in North Glenn, Colorado.

He attended school in Avinger, Texas for ten years and graduated from Bloomburg High School in 2005 with honors. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the Cub Scouts of America. He worked for I-Hop Restaurants for 14 years, working in Tyler for 11 years and Colorado for 3 years. He was a member at Pruitt Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Avinger. He enjoyed playing bingo and was a collector of knives and swords.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Daron Pate and his grandparents.

He is survived by his parents, Troy and Susan Downs and siblings, Rusty Pate, Angie Pate Greene, Aaron Pate, Amy Youngblood and husband, Darrell, Sheri Sapp and husband, Jeff, Karen Harrison and husband, Tony and Terri Naron and husband, Justin along with a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
