A memorial service for Vernon Lee Carver "Grandpa", 75, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas officiated by Bro. Doug Lovett.

Vernon was born on January 21, 1947, to the late Wilma Lee Carver and Lucille Edwards Carver and passed away on May 15, 2022, in Longview, Texas.

He worked as a machine operator and had a passion for welding. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He was known for cooking large family meals on his smoker and enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilma Lee and Lucille Carver; daughter, Scarlett Ranea Tradewell; grandson, Brandon Lee DuBois; son-in-law, Ricky Eakins; two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Carver; children, Misty Rachelle Eakins, Tommy Joe Carver and spouse Debra, Brandy Leigh Johnson and spouse Lindsey, Tammy Jean Carver; brother, William Thomas Carver and spouse Elaine; sisters, Beverly Sue Bartlett and spouse Steve and Erma Dean Landers and spouse Cody; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren along with numerous other family and friends.
