Funeral services for Vickie Wilson Evans, 48, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2015, at Downs Funeral Home. A Christian life came to close Tuesday, June 2, 2015, when Vickie Wilson Evans was called to her heavenly home. Vickie, the daughter of Jerry Brown and the late Doretha Miles was born March 13, 1967, in Kerens, Texas. She attended Midland Public Schools and Marshall High School. She was currently employed by DSSW in Longview, Texas, as a Rehab Tech. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Greater Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. Later she joined the New Hope Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas. She married Bobby Wilson. He preceded her in death (August 2012). Vickie is also preceded in death by her mother. She leaves to cherish her memory a faithful husband, Christopher Evans; father, Jerry Brown; daughters, Ashley (Scotty) Berry and Olympic Miles, both of Midland, Texas and Charisma Evans Gridry of Marshall, Texas; two sons, Jamori Miles and Christopher Evans Gridry, both of Marshall, Texas; five sisters, Retha (Johnny) Baldwin of Houston, Texas, Jerline (Earnest) Sanders of Longview, Texas, Freddie (Allen) Harvey of Mineral Wells, Texas, Glenda Russell and Anita Williams, both of Marshall, Texas; nine brothers, Everett (Soon) Miles of Korea, Douglas (Angie) Miles of Tennessee, Maurice (Tammy) Miles of Atlanta, Georgia, Roy (Jeanette) Brown of Carthage, Texas, Richard (Pauline) Miles, Eroyce (Brenda) Miles and Jerry Parkerson Brown, all of Marshall, Texas, Timothy (Petreron) Brown of Arlington, Texas and Larry Miles of Mineral Wells, Texas; mother-in-law, Jessie Brown of Marshall, Texas; father-in-law, Willie (Grace) Evans of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren, Scottlyn and Sanaa Berry, and Kyrie Steven Felden, all of Midland, Texas, Zoeye and Breanna Guidry, both of Marshall, Texas; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
