Victor William Schwartz Sr. went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Family and friends will celebrate Victor's life on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Central Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Algoma South Cemetery. Victor was born July 9, 1917 in Schulenburg, Texas to Stefan and Mary Schwartz. Victor married Estelle Seitzler of Waco, Texas on February 3, 1944. He served in WW II as a proud member of the United States Army. After serving his country, Victor moved his wife and young son to Marshall where he began a 35 year tenure with Panola-Harrison Electric Cooperative. He retired as General Manager on January 3, 1983. Victor and his family joined Central Baptist Church in 1947. Ordained in 1955, Victor is Central's longest tenured deacon, at 57 years, and has been named Deacon Emeritus. Victor's family remembers him as a father, grandfather, and great grandfather who taught them to honor the Lord and be faithful to their church and families. After his retirement, Victor liked to travel, work in his yard, and in his workshop, "PawPaw's Pool and Tool". Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters, four brothers, and a daughter-in-law, Martha Schwartz. Those left to cherish his memory are Estelle, his loving wife of 68 years, three sons Victor W. Schwartz, Jr. and wife Geraldine of Marshall, Jack Schwartz and wife Nadine of Nolanville, Bob Schwartz of White Oak. Grandchildren, Greg Schwartz and wife Joy of Beaumont, Scott Schwartz and wife Julana of Rusk, Heather Osler and husband Bruce of Cedar Park, Heath Schwartz of New York, NY, Stephen Schwartz and wife Lacie of Hallsville, and David Schwartz of Grapevine; Great granddaughters Kelsey Schwartz of Beaumont, Kaylin Schwartz of Rusk, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank all of the people who loved and cared for Victor at Marshall Manor Nursing Home and Good Shepherd Marshall Hospital.
