A graveside service for Mrs. Violet Lucille Ashley will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Cemetery. Pastor Travis Gulley will officiate the service.

Violet Lucille Ashley, 92, of Waskom, Texas was born on August 29, 1928 in Houston, Texas to her parents, James Curtis Haltom and Rosetta Harrison. Mrs. Ashley passed away on March 27, 2021 at her home in Waskom. Mrs. Ashley was a lifetime resident of the Waskom area. She attended both the First Baptist and Pentecostal Church of Waskom, Texas. She worked as a cook for the Waskom Dairy Queen for 33 years. In her younger years she loved going bowling, playing tennis, badminton, gardening, and sewing.

Mrs. Ashley is survived by her children; Peggy Laughter, Brenda Brashear, Janet Graves, and Doyle Ashley; five sisters and two brothers; grandchildren, Pat Miller, Carl Brashear, Christina Ream, Tiffany Brashear, Joshua Graves; great-grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Brinon, Reagan, and Julian Kruithof, Madison Ream, Meghan, April, and Dylon Miller.

Mrs. Ashley is preceded in death by her husband, Carter Wayne Ashley Sr.; son, Carter Wayne Ashley Jr.; grandsons, Matt Ashley, Clint Miller and Kevin Graves; great-grandson, Bradley Miller.
