Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Judith Loper Matheny, 64 of Harleton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday April 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Pete Sellars officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Matheny passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Marshall. Virginia Judith Loper Matheny was born December 14, 1946 in Wiggins, MS to Eli Franklin Loper and Vashti Bernice Anderson Loper. Virginia worked as a caregiver for Texas Home Health and enjoyed sewing, fishing and enjoyed spending time with family.She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Virginia are her children, Raymond Boatwright of Bellview, FL, Robin Francis and husband Wade of Marshall, Judith Massey and husband Bert of Bellview, FL, Mary Penley and husband David of Ft. Rucker AL and Rebecca Oney and husband Keith of Marshall; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Caiden Clausius and five brothers, William Douglas Loper, Edwin Loper, Elmer Loper,Eli Loper all of Wiggins, MS and Maxwell Loper of Saucier, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
