A funeral service for Wanda Jo Flanagan Hogue, 76, of Harleton, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algoma South Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on February 5, 1949, in Marshall, Texas to Floyd and Ruby Mae Flanagan and passed away on January 19, 2026, in Harleton, Texas.

She was a sister of three brothers, Chester, Ray and Gordon and three sisters, Helen, Mollie and Diana. She grew to love horseback riding and relaxing while reading. In 1968 she was reintroduced to JT Hogue, whom she married on June 21, 1968, in Marshall, Texas. They were married for 57 years. Through her married years she enjoyed seeing much of the world by traveling to different states, such as Alaska and Hawaii with her husband on jobs in construction. As a grandmother, Meme was loved by all, and her grandchildren were her life. It is funny how Meme's grandchildren never did wrong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruby Mae Flanagan; her three sisters, Helen, Mollie and Diana and one brother, Chester.

She is survived by her husband, JT Hogue; daughter, LaWanda Kissinger; two granddaughters, Erica and Bryan Booth and Ashley and Brandon Wheeler and six great grandchildren, Shawn, Bailey and Blaire Booth and Stormie, Sage and Vivian Wheeler and brothers, Roy Flanagan and Gordon Flanagan along with other family and friends.

Although our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for her life and the love she gave us all so freely. Meme will always live on in our hearts.
