Funeral services for Mrs. Wilbernette Boyd, 73 of Marshall will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Long Ridge Cemetery in Marshall. There will be a viewing from 2-5pm, Friday, May 30th at the Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Boyd passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. Wilbernette Boyd was born to L.C. and Blanche May on April 18, 1941 in Marshall, TX. She united with Christ and was baptized at an early age with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Marshall, TX. Wibernette was a homemaker. In her free time she taught herself to become an outstanding seamstress. She also loved to garden, cook, and fish. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She entered into eternal rest on May 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Boyd; her parents, L.C. May and Blanche May; one brother, Ceola May, one sister, Alberta Malbrough; one granddaughter, Christina Smith; and one great grandson, Tyrel Bennett. Left to cherish her loving memories are her seven children, four daughters, Cecilia Johnson of Marshall, TX, Brenda (James) Goosby of Balch Springs, TX, Pamela (Lundell) Brown of Marshall, TX, Casandra (Eddie) Johnson of Scottsville, TX; 3 sons, Kevin (Jackie) Boyd of Corsicana, TX, Michael Boyd of Marshall, TX and Keefer (Tonya) Boyd of Marshall, TX; 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
